A Precision CNC Manufacturer in Silicon Valley
Company History and Founder Alan Kalman
Kalman manufacturing, founded by Alan Kalman, specializes in manufacturing specialty, high tolerance parts. Alan developed a passion for machining early in life and has maintained that passion over 35 years while building a business that started in his home, and has since grown to a full scale operation providing high tolerance CNC machined parts for some of the most demanding applications. Alan’s early work in CNC shops taught him both the value of quality, and also the importance of the parts he was making. Today, some of the parts made at Kalman serve in applications like medical robotic assisted surgery devices. We understand that in many cases our parts actually have lives that depend on them, and we bring that understanding to every project we take on. Kalman ensures that all of its employees share a similar passion for their work.
Custom Service Manager
Rosa has been with Kalman Mfg since 2000. As a Customer Service Manager, she acts as a liaison between customers and Kalman’s production department making sure that the lines of communication remain open. Customer service is an integral part of Kalman’s value adds. Rosa strives to build trust and strong long term relationships with Kalman’s customers.
Senior Process Engineer
Alan joined Kalman Manufacturing in 2011 and has over 25+ years of experience in the manufacturing field with a wide range of experience in different types of CNC machines – 3-axis vertical mill, lathes, 5-axis verticals, and 5-axis mill/turns. He spent the last 20 years developing and honing his skills in the 5-axis mill/turn area. His expertise covers a wide variety of areas – medical, aerospace, robotics, and semiconductor. Alan develops end to end manufacturing process from planning to the final production product. This includes part concept, CAD/CAM programming, part inspection, and outside processes.
Eric Kalman, Ph.D.
Eric joined Kalman Manufacturing in 2017 after spending 6 years in the semiconductor capital equipment industry, where he served in Quality and Sustaining Engineering management roles at Nanometrics. His focus at Kalman Manufacturing is the development and improvement of operational systems and processes, with the ultimate goal of making the company a delight to work with for our customers. He holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Irvine, specializing in experimental condensed matter physics, and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from Santa Clara University.
Adam joined Kalman Manufacturing in 2018 after 20 years in the aerospace industry working for Space Systems Loral, Lockheed Martin Space Systems, and Randtron Antenna Systems. Adam’s broad-based engineering expertise includes mechanical design, CNC machining, complex assembly design, manufacturing processes, CAD/CAM, and additive manufacturing. Adam earned a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University and a dual bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering from Cal Poly State University, SLO. Adam has completed a CNC Research Machinist certificate at De Anza College.
